WELCOME TO FLOWVAC

Flowvac Environmental Ltd is the UK's sole licensee for the world renowned Airvac Vacuum Sewerage System. We design install and maintain the Airvac Vacuum Sewerage System, the first to be used in the UK 24 years ago. We are proud to have recently installed in the UK's biggest community Vacuum Sewerage Scheme in Upwell, Cambridgeshire serving a community of some 1500 properties working in partnership with Anglian Water and Barhale Construction.

The Airvac Vacuum Sewerage System is used successfully in industrial, internal and community sewage schemes throughout the world. Because of the small pipe bores and shallow excavation depths its installation as compared to conventional gravity drainage reduces the cost of installation and gives significant advantages where:

  • Site ground levels give little opportunity for natural drainage.
  • Ground conditions make excavation costly.
  • High ground water levels make excavation costly.
  • There is a need to transport the effluent upwards against gravity.

Other unique advantages of vacuum systems include:

  • Zero leakage from underground pipework reducing pollution and contamination risks.
  • Shallow chambers and pipework reducing risk to installation and maintenance personnel.
  • Environmental benefits from reduced digging and back-fill operations.
  • Reduced project times & costs compared to equivalent conventional gravity systems.
  • Particular suitability for use in contaminated land or brown-field site development.
  • No tree root invasion into pipework.
  • Ability to cross waterways.
  • Pipework is self cleansing due to velocity of liquid transfer.
  • Reduced odour due to high velocity transport and little opportunity for stagnation.
  • Flexibility in design with ability to re-route pipework to avoid existing services and obstacles.
