Following a busy 2005, new projects for 2006 and beyond include new sewers for major residential and leisure developments. Housing growth in the Anglian region means our programme of new connections continues apace. Other work includes:
Waterside development - Thames Valley This existing Flowvac sewerage scheme located on a prestige holiday site is undergoing a major expansion with plans for a new pumping station and provision for further holiday accommodation.
Replacement of Failed Sewers - London Area We are currently working with a high profile engineering consultancy exploring options to replace a failed conventional sewage system on a major new residential development suffering from poor ground conditions and subsidence.
Business Parks - Peterborough2005/ 2006
Extensive growth to this site has meant a more than doubling in size of the existing Flowvac sewerage system with new buisness parks and residential development on the site all served by our system.
First Time Sewerage - Perth 2005/ 2006
Working closely with Scottish Water and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency, Flowvac is installing a first time sewerage scheme for this rural community.
Vacuum Sewerage was chosen to overcome shallow bedrock and hence groundwater less than a metre below the surface over the site.
Number of Properties Served : 120
Residential Development - Great Yarmouth 2005/2006
A Brand new residential development of 149 properties, this flat site suffers from poor ground conditions and a high water table.
Vacuum Sewerage was chosen to suit a revolutionary ground support system where groundwater was less than a metre below the surface throughout the site.
Number of Properties Served : 149
Extension & Training - Markham Moor Completion Christmas 2005
Flowvac extended this successful, existing system, to serve new leisure facilities. The extension works were followed up by training and mentoring for maintenance staff.
Extensions - East Anglia ongoing
With many hundreds of our valves serving the Anglian region, we are frequently adding new connections to existing systems. Working with Anglian Water, we install new valves across the region.
Archerfield Golf - ScotlandCompletion Autumn 2004
A new prestige golf development with two courses, extensive clubhouse facilities and major residential developments.
Vacuum Sewerage was chosen to dramatically reduce the cost of excavating where bedrock and groundwater was less than a metre below the surface throughout the site.
A first time sewerage system for 1500 properties. The largest vacuum system in the UK.
Vacuum Sewerage was chosen to overcome high groundwater levels and reduce costs of construction in virtually flat fenland. An equivalent conventional scheme would have required over 30 pumping stations compared to only 4 vacuum stations.
Number of Properties Served : 1500
Marshland St James - CambridgeshireCompleted Spring 2003
A first time sewerage system for a rural fenland community.
Vacuum Sewerage was chosen to overcome high groundwater levels and reduce costs of construction in virtually flat fenland.
Number of Properties Served : 308
Parson Drove - CambridgeshireCompletion Spring 2004
Working with Anglian Water to install a first time sewerage system for a rural fenland community.
Again, Vacuum Sewerage was chosen to costs of excavating where groundwater was less than a metre below the surface throughout the site.
Number of Properties Served : 367
Markham Moor - NottinghamshireCompletion 2003
Working with Severn Trent Water to complete a first time sewerage for a rural community, including a daring directional drill under the A1.
Vacuum Sewerage was chosen to dramatically reduce the cost of excavating where groundwater accellerated construction costs.
